China With Russia: A Serious Cyber Threat To US
Two reports suggest that China may have tied up with Russia for cyberspying US and others.

Security Firm Novetta Solution reported that they noticed a group of Chinese Hackers who worked on behalf of a Chinese government intelligence apparatus.

A separate report by Security firm FireEye suggests that rapid hacks in US Defense Contractors, Eastern European Governments and European Security Organizations are may be sponsored by Russian Government.

The Chinese group, going with handle Axiom, "is a well resourced, disciplined and sophisticated cyberespionage group operating out of mainland china" said Novetta Chief Executive Peter LaMontagne in a statement.

Peter assures strongly that Axiom, the Chinese hacking group has a strong connection with Chinese Government.

Novetta said that Axiom has hacked many US organizations as well as individuals who can be proved as a potential threat to the stability of chinese state.

"Axiom uses a varied tool-set ranging from generic malware to very tailored, custom malware designed for long-term persistence that at times can be measured in years." Novetta added.

Novetta's report is a fruit of joint research of several security firms such as Cisco, FireEye, F-Secure, iSight Partners, Microsoft, Tenable and others.

Rather than simply connecting information about the Group it worked exceptionally and successfully disrupted Chinese Networks.

Peter said that similar approaches like Novetta will do better things in future.

On the other Hand FireEye discovered another hackers group going with handle APT28, probably backed by Russian Government, which hacked to collect intelligence record from US organizations rather than hacking just for economic gain.

It has targeted insider information related to governments, militaries, and security organizations since 2007, the report noted.

Dan McWhorter, FireEye vice president of threat intelligence said in a statement,
FireEye's latest advance persistent threat report sheds light on cyberespionage operations that we assess to be most likely sponsored by the Russian government, long believed to be a leader among major nations in performing sophisticated network attacks.
