North Korea Denies South's Mobile Phone Hacking Allegation

Some days ago, South Korea's Spy Agency alleged that Pyongyang has hacked mobiles phones in South Korea using malware disguised in Gaming App.

A report to the parliament last week, South Korea's National Intelligence Agency said the N. Korea tried to hack more than 20,000 mobile phones between May and September.

NIA requested South Korean websites and other government channels to block remove those apps from their server and also to block the hacking channels.

South is accused by North for spreading leaflets about the failures and criticism of the Northern Government across the border by balloon.Pyongyang's official website Uriminzokkiri accused the NIS of falsifying the report to distract attention.Fire Exchange took place among the border as North shoot the balloons carrying such leaflets.

"It's (the) usual tactic used by South Korean authorities to fan anti-Pyongyang sentiment whenever they face a political crisis," it said.

In recent years hackers have launched cyber-attacks against South Korean military institutions, commercial banks, government agencies, TV broadcasters and media websites.Investigation to those hacks identified North as the main attacker.

The North is believed to run an elite cyber war unit of at least 3,000 personnel, but it has denied any involvement and accuses Seoul of fabricating the incidents to fan cross-border tensions.
