| Breyer Horses Website hosted Malware on Their Server, Payment Card Data At Risk |
Several personal information including Payment Card Data of customers who shopped through Breyer Horses website may have been compromised by a Malware which was installed on the server hosting the website.
Reeves International said that unknown individual installed the malware in the website server hosting the Breyer Horses website. The malware lasted for 18 month, from March 31,2013 to Oct 6. So those who shopped during that time falls into the list of the victims of this data compromise. Others may be in the safe side as it seems to be but it's not clear whether malware became activated after that period or not.
According to to the report the number of victims whose payment data were compromised is not declared officially.
The compromised data contains names, addresses, website usernames and passwords, payment card account numbers, card expiration dates, and payment card security codes.
The type or anything technical description about the Malware was not mentioned in the report.
As fight back, the authority has informed all the individuals about the compromise. Codes, used to run the website has been also updated for the security of server as well as website.
