Facebook Now Supports Tor

It's hard to decline for anyone that Facebook is the most secured social networking site till date. And here the California Company has added another security layer to their name by starting support for Free Anonymizing Software Tor.

What is Tor?

Tor is an open source project , started in 2002 to provide a way for people to access the internet without sharing internet fingerprint such as their IP address and physical location with websites and their service providers.

Previous Experience:

Though Facebook could be visited via Tor, but overall experience was not pretty enough. There were some issues with Facebook like misbehaving Fonts or page element missing and sometimes getting the whole page not loaded by the Tor Browser. So this official release from the Social Network Giant will definitely fix those issues and is gonna make Tor Users as well as people highly concerned about their security very happy.

Facebook says,

Over time we hope to share some of the lessons that we have learned - and will learn - about scaling and deploying services via the Facebook onion address; we have many ideas and are looking forward to improving this service.  A medium-term goal will be to support Facebook's mobile-friendly website via an onion address, although in the meantime we expect the service to be of an evolutionary and slightly flaky nature.

Facebook Tor Address

Now anyone with tor can visit https://facebookcorewwwi.onion/ to get a secure connection to Facebook's servers that provides end-to-end encryption.

Great Chance For China to Dive Into Facebook?

The users who use Tor to bypass Internet censorship made by Government in such places like China or Iran can now be able to visit Facebook anonymously. Some days ago, Chinese Government said in a statement that they will allow Facebook in China if they obeys the rule of the country. So this move from Facebook can trick the Chinese Government easily. Now questions arises how Chinese Government will take this matter. Will they execute some way to prevent Chinese people from accessing Facebook? Time Will Say.

When Hack Intel tested the link and connection speed of Facebook in Tor everything went buttery smooth.
