| Hackers Breach White House Network Systems |
After Hack Intel reported about involvement of Russian Government in US cyber spying now report suggests that unclassified computer and network systems were hacked causing disruption to some services.
White House official said Washington Post "In the course of assessing recent threat, we identified activity of concern on the unclassified Executive Office of the President Network".
He added "We took immediate measures to evaluate and mitigate the activity. Unfortunately some of that resulted in disruption of regular services to users. But people were on it and dealing with it.
White House official could not show any evidence that sensitive government data was accessed in the Hack. They also said that classified network was not hacked.
Washington Post citing undisclosed sources said that the Russian Government might be behind this hack. The breach was reported to the officials by an ally.
The breach was reported about two or three weeks ago.Some staffers were instructed to change their passwords. Except minor delays in the Email system, there was so serious issue. Intranet and VPN system were shut down for a while.
The FBI, Secret Service and National Security Agency are all involved in the investigation.
