imgur sued
Pirate slams Photographer by posting 20K Photos on Pirate Bay

Christopher Boffoli, the Photographer who sued most of the Tech Giants for Copyright Infringement of his photos seems to be slammed by an Anonymous Uploader who uploaded 20754 photos of him on biggest Torrent site The Pirate Bay.

In case of Imgur, Boffoli has asked the court to prevent the site from making 73 of his photos available online with the help of an injunction. Beside that he wanted millions of dollars in statutory damages for willful copyright infringement.

While Imgur has not yet expressed their view about the case or might have been preparing for court battle, probably an anti-bofolli or an Imgur Fan posted huge amount of his photos on TPB, Torrent Freak Reports

We have seen many cases of copyright infringement regarding Movies, Games, TV Shows, Musics CDs and Videos, fighting for your own Photograph Copyright is new in this Segment. He also sued Google and Twitter but most of them were settled outside the court though the amount for the settlement was not disclosed ever.

According to the torrent description, there are 20,754 images in there, including the “Big Appetites” series which uses the juxtaposition of different scales to create interesting works – such as mixing tiny humans with huge fruits, vegetables or foods.

In 2012 Boffoli sued Twitter for copyright infringement and for ignoring Digital Millennium Copyright Act requests to take his photos down from Twitter servers. After a suit was filed in federal court, Twitter and Boffoli settled out of court. He also sued Google, and Imgur (2014). DMCA takedowns all over pages like tumblr is what you can find,” the torrent’s description reads.

I had to create an ISO file for the "Albums" folder, because the .torrent file was 4.4MB no matter what piece size I had, there is too many jpg's, also with .iso you can open and see what's in there without uncompressing it (like zip, or rar),” the anonymous uploader adds.
