Verizon Tightens Its Cyber Security by Adding FireEye Tools

Verizon has added FireEye security tools to their enterprise managed data for better security to their business users.

FireEye Mobile Threat Protection System 

FireEye serves a virtual-machine based security platform which provides enterprise level security to wide range of cyber attacks. Their MTP (Mobile Threat Protection) provides real time dynamic threat protection without using signatures.

Service Starting Date

Both the company will offer fee based services both to Android and iOS users beginning in the first quarter of 2015.

Kathie Miley, executive director of global security solutions for Verizon Enterprise Solution said,

Real-Time Detection & Real-Time Prevention 

FireEye's MTP service produces real-time visibility of threats for mobile devices. By teaming up with FireEye, Verizon will be able to offer its customers enterprise-wide views into security of their mobile device operations. 

FireEye's MTP system keeps the up to date cyber threat information by collecting intelligence data from its own virtual machines which are installed all over world. Kathie said, 

By joining forces, we are able to close the gap between when the attack is taking place and the identification of an attack, creating a more proactive environment. Our goal is to identify the threat(s) in real time and stop them in real time.

FireEye's monitoring tools enable business organizations to analyze the originating point of the attack, potentiality of the attack and the back record of the attack if present.Tools also provide them the necessary measures that is to be taken to prevent such attack.

Heading Towards Secured Enterprise

Under the new services, Verizon security analysts will then correlate the FireEye-spotted events with system-wide security alerts to enhance the threat-detection process and help enterprises increase their protection. Verizon said

I believe the combination of our capabilities and our people, coupled with our network and customer bases — plus the security intelligence we both gather — will be incredibly strong.
