School Teacher's Ex-Boyfriend Hacked Email Account and Sent Nude Photos to Students

The Ex-Boyfriend of a Pasadena school teachers has been arrested and bailed in Los Angeles County who is accused of accessing her ex-girlfriend's email and also of sending vulgar photos to the students and his fellow stuffs.

The incident occurred in July when 287 people received Sexually-Explicit Photos from the email account of Richard Rosa, a science teacher at John Muir High School in Pasadena, California.

After Pasadena Unified School District learned about the emails they instantly sent apology emails to all the recipients.

According to the school profile of John Muir High School, Richard Rose has been working there for 4 years and was a teacher of Chemistry and AP Biology.

As the students and staffs of the school stated, Rosa had a good impression among the students as well as teachers.It's was out of his character, colleagues said.As a result of that, Rosa was completely ruled out from the suspect list of email sender. Former student Miguel Magana said "My first reaction is, 'I think he got Hacked'". Students also opened a online petition named "Save Mr. Rosa" which got 300 signatures.

Mr. Rosa is one of the most professional teachers I know and I would hate for a great teacher to lose a job based on a mistake that may have been an accident," the petition stated. "He's taught me so much and I don't want a teacher who has impacted lives to be turned down because of a mistake. Considering John Muir High School has a bad reputation, he's one of the best teachers who cares about the students and actually shows that he wants to be there.

David Galvan,38, hacked his Mail account somehow and stole some nude photos of him and sent them to the above mentioned recipients with a subject line "Enjoy". The number of sent photos was 4.

David was angry at Rosa about the ending their relationship and  took this step to take revenge on him.

At the time of hack and spamming, Rosa was out of the country.

The L.A. County district attorney’s office issued a $110,000 arrest warrant against Galvan. David was charged with several counts.The first two counts are felonies, while the rest are misdemeanors.

A warrant for Galvan's arrest was issued, but he quickly left the state.Galvan was eventually tracked down to Hillsboro, Oregon, where he was arrested on 21 October and brought back to Los Angeles by US Marshals.

He was released Thursday after posting bail and is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 21.

California Revenge Porn Law was recently extended to cover the incidents regarding Selfies. So Rosa's case also falls in this category as one of the picture was taken by Rosa himself.

It is noticed that the affected school was using education-specific Gmail version. So this incident shows us that not only celebrities, public is also required to be concerned about their online security.
