IAF warns about usage of Xiaomi Phones in India
IAF warns about usage of Xiaomi Phones in India

Xiaomi may be the hit selling mobiles in India, might have gone out of stock in seconds in Flipkart, but their usage in India has been put in question by IAF(Indian Air Force) .

It's not only Xiaomi, IAF have warned all inviduals to stop using mobiles phones manufactured by Chinese Companies. As Xiaomi is the biggest chinese player in the Indian Smartphone market, IAF has specifically pointed Xiaomi in this case.

The reason behind this is that, Xiaomi devices send data to an agency which reports to the ministry of information industry in China, IAF reports.

The IAF came to this conclusion on the basis of information obtained from the Indian Computer Response Team which also supports that fact that Xiaomi mobiles send user data back to China.

Though IAF and Computer Response Team claimant seem ligid but it's questionable whether they have experienced it during their own internal testing or gathered information from thrid-party company news where they claimed that Xiaomi mobiles were sending data to Chinese servers without users' permission. It's needless to say that Xiaomi frequently denied that allegation and said that the phone might have been sending some data to its computing centres in China.

Some times ago, software maker F-Secure claimed that the Xiaomi Redmi 1S smartphone was sending back data to servers in China.According to Xiaomi Mi Cloud service is enable by default. To make it stop, they released some updates installing which user will be granted the choice to make it un-default if they wanted. It's doubtful that default settings in previous time were set intentionally or not !!!

IAF cited a Hong Kong based user who claimed that the Redmi Note phone was automatically connecting to servers in China and sending back photos, and messages.
